From Steering Committee
to Church-In-A-Box
to Beacon of Liberal Religion at the South Jersey Shore
1998 Steering Committee formed to investigate the feasibility of forming a new Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Atlantic County
1999 Started meeting at Jordan Road School, Somers Point
2000 Charter Sunday – we received our Charter from the UUA
2001 Started meeting at Jewish Community Center, Jerome Avenue, Margate NJ
2002 JCC started construction project; started meeting at Jewish Family Services building right next door.
2004 Started meeting at Lion Center for the Blind, Pitney Road, Absecon, NJ.
2006 Started meeting at Newmann Center (Campus Ministry Center), Stockton College, Pomona Road, Galloway
2007 Acquired land on Pomona Road
November 2007 – Groundbreaking
January 2008 – Starting building UU Center on Pomona Road
September 29, 2008 – First service in UU Center!
September 2012 – Ordination of Rev Charlie Dietrich at UU Center
September 2004 – Interim Ministry of Rev Cynthia Cain began
