Revealing the Sacred: The Enduring Bonds of Kin
Special Guest Speaker Rev. Rebekah Montgomery

As we reflect on community and how we come together, we often turn to how family of choice and family of blood relates to our spiritual lives. This sermon explores our chosen bonds as a source of personal theology and a way to live out our chosen faith.

About our Guest Speaker:
After the events of September 11, 2001, Rev. Montgomery felt drawn to military chaplaincy. She was ordained a Unitarian Universalist minister in June 2003 and commissioned as an army chaplain in September 2003. Since becoming an army chaplain, Rev. Montgomery has spent the majority of her career on active duty and completed one overseas tour in Afghanistan. In 2007, she completed a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2014. She currently serves as the Assistant Minister of the U.U Congregation of Rockville, MD.
