Happiness
Cynthia Grzywinski
In these uncertain times, we hear a lot about happiness – all kinds of advice on how to pursue it, how to attain and maintain it. The right to pursue something called “happiness” even appears in the US Declaration of Independence, but what does it mean to be truly “happy”? We’ll explore this concept by asking what science, philosophy, world religions, and culture tell us. What should we hold onto, and what should we let go of? Let’s hear what the likes of ancient Roman poet/philosopher Lucretius, writer and satirist George Bernard Shaw, and the venerable Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hahn have to say. It could change your life!
