The Power of Belief: What We Choose to Live By

Rev. Dr. Stephanie Bush Mann

What do our beliefs make possible—and when do they hold us back? Drawing on Unity teachings, personal experience, and her work in prison ministry, Rev. Dr. Stephanie Bush Mann explores how beliefs shape our sense of self, our relationships, and our response to uncertainty. This reflection invites people of every spiritual perspective to examine inherited assumptions and choose beliefs that support compassion, courage, human dignity, and meaningful action.

Rev. Dr. Stephanie Bush Mann is an ordained Unity minister, educator, author, and retired attorney whose work connects spiritual growth with human dignity and social justice. Her professional and spiritual journey reflects “many paths, one calling”—helping people recognize their inherent worth and capacity for transformation. She is the founder and spiritual leader of the Spiritual Café of the South Jersey Shore—Unity, a vibrant virtual spiritual community rooted in Unity teachings and welcoming people of all spiritual paths. Her career has included university teaching, criminal justice research, municipal administration, mediation, and coaching. She holds a JD and a PhD in Criminal Justice and is the author of “Misguided Justice: The War on Drugs and the Incarceration of Black Women.” Across these many paths, her calling remains grounded in spiritual understanding and compassionate service.
