Each autumn, our congregation takes the time to regather and recommit ourselves to one another and to our faith community. Join us for the unique UU ritual of Water Communion. Everyone is invited to bring water to add to our community bowl, and we celebrate afterward with a potluck picnic.

This year we held our annual event on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The Water Service was a lovely service where we reflected on the energies we intend to bring to our community this year. UUCSJS Board of Trustees member Rev. Theresa McReynolds led us in a “Calling in of the Directions,” and UUCSJS Director of Religious Education Jessica Dunn Safonof led the ceremony and the “Blessing of the Water.” Gina Roche and the choir provided beautiful music, including a wonderfully meditative “Holy Waters.”

For our picnic, we were fortunate to have members of the Men’s Group grilling up hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. Members of Scout Troop/Pack 0634 (who meet in our building) were present for the ceremony and picnic and provided the desserts! Everyone else brought potluck side dishes and drinks in abundance.

We are looking forward to a great year of learning and growing together.
